Also applied a liberal amount of silicone to the plastic housing before re installation.

My old friend (96 D1) is leaking from the rain gutter in the right rear and in the front footwells. Water ingress via plenum heater air intake. Update on water ingress and loss of the road speed signal. I have temporarily taped the plenum to the windscreen with matt black duct tape and it has stopped the water entering the plenum by that route, this will do until a permanent fix is done.
